Junior Beta Club Volunteers at Ronald McDonald House; Collects Beads for STRIVE

The Junior Beta Club held a bead drive in March to benefit the STRIVE Center, a nonprofit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities and delays. Disabled or delayed adults are paid to sort donated beads, and then the organization sells the beads to individuals and Mardi Gras krewes.

After dropping off the collected beads on April 13, the Junior Beta Club headed over to Ronald McDonald House to help cook dinner, clean, and organize. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home to families who are spending weeks or months away from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children.

Their morning of service culminated with lunch at Café Reconcile. They learned that the nonprofit restaurant provides job training for at-risk youth. They were also able to see that the need to serve others never “ends.” Regardless of one’s age or place in life, there is always a need to help others.

We are very proud of the Junior Beta Club for their commitment to Serviam
